Kourtnie Huddleston is the executive director of Solstice Senior Living at Joliet. Kourtnie has worked in senior living since 2011 and has experience in sales and as an executive director. Kourtnie graduated from Northern Illinois University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in business administration. She got her start as a case manager and elder abuse investigator at Will County Senior Services.
Kourtnie currently lives in Plainfield, Illinois, and in her free time enjoys spending time with her daughter, running and traveling.
Director of Sales and Marketing
Edward Kerfin is the director of Sales and Marketing for Solstice Senior Living at Joliet. Ed has 13 years of experience in senior care. His life goal is to help people who can’t help themselves, and he is determined to help people find the best independent living community at Solstice.
Ed is a former fireman and business owner. He is the co-host of a local radio show called “The Friends Over Fifty Show.” On this show, Ed discusses finance, health and lifestyle issues that affect this age group and older.
Ed and his wife, Michelle, also operate two local micro-food pantries, among the many charities they are involved in. They live in Lockport, Illinois, and recently became grandparents.
Culinary Services Director
Brian Himmelman is the Culinary Services director for Solstice Senior Living at Joliet. Prior to joining the team, Brian spent 15 years as the executive chef for various restaurants around the area. His passion for cooking is evident in every dish he creates. This passion is what led Brian to enroll and graduate from Joliet Junior College with a Culinary Arts AAS degree. When he is not in the kitchen, Brian can be found spending time with his girlfriend, Paige, and three daughters, Katherine, Maeve and Mia.
Vibrant Life Director
After 30 years of working in the administrative assistant field, Gloria Neal initially joined Solstice Senior Living at Joliet as concierge in December of 2017.
Now as the Vibrant Life® director, Gloria loves working with the residents and using her skills to make their lives a little better and more fun. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at her church with hospitality and assisting with the Craft Class. She also loves to bake, cook, work in her vegetable garden and do her church bookkeeping. She lives in Plainfield with her husband and son.
Business Office Director
Alina Ramirez is the Business Office director for Solstice at Joliet. She has been working in the community and property management industry since 2013. She is passionate about helping families find a home where they can feel secure and comfortable.
She’s currently studying to get her HUD certification to provide housing counseling for families. When she’s not working or studying, Alina is at home making essential oils with soaps and lotions, drawing, writing, or playing with her German Shepherd puppy.
Building Service Director
Tom Robinson is the Building Services director at Solstice Senior Living at Joliet. He is responsible for the maintenance and care of our building. Tom has been in the maintenance-related business for more than 30 years and enjoys working and helping seniors.
He and his wife of 26 years reside in the Joliet area with their three beautiful kids. Tom will make sure you are comfortable living here at Solstice Senior Living at Joliet.
