Yosanne Winston

Executive Director

Yosanne Winston has served as Executive Director with Solstice Senior Living at Joliet for the past three and a half years. She is passionate about delivering quality care to seniors and enjoys mentoring employees. Prior to joining the team, she spent 10 years working in operational management for senior housing as an executive director in assisted living, memory care and independent living. Yosanne’s passion has always been serving seniors, which is why she also dedicated much of her career to geriatric nursing.

As a native of Chicago, Yosanne attended Thornridge High School in Dolton, Illinois, and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Parkside, where she studied nursing before relocating to Mesa, Arizona, where she majored in nursing. She then went on to attend Arizona State University and later obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in business management at the University of Phoenix.

When Yosanne is not working, you can find her traveling with her husband, three sons and miniature Yorkie named Oakley to some of her favorite destinations, including Hawaii, Cuba, Jamaica and France, to name a few. Yosanne also enjoys painting, dance and music. She especially loves reliving her glory days as a cheerleader by coaching middle school and high school cheer teams. Cortney Malinowski

Director of Sales and Marketing

Cortney Malinowski, director of Sales and Marketing at Solstice Senior Living at Joliet, has been serving residents and families in the senior housing end of health care for over 10 years. With a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Millikin University, she takes great pride in helping those in need. Cortney has experience both as a sales and marketing director and as an executive director, having opened and operated two new communities prior to joining the Solstice family. She is currently in pursuit of her MBA.

Working within a team of like-minded professionals to better serve our seniors and their loved ones is truly a labor of love for Cortney. She is a Joliet native and has a passion for traveling. Whether she’s exploring French-speaking Quebec, hiking in the Amazon Rainforest, volunteering in a Guatemalan orphanage or road-tripping through the Grand Canyon with her dog, Bane, she is constantly looking for ways to expand her horizons. Cortney has a 1-year-old stepson and enjoys spending time watching him grow and explore his world. She loves trying new restaurants and is particularly fond of Spanish tapas. She also loves cooking, gardening, hiking, playing the piano, and catching the occasional concert or opera at the Lyric.

Gloria Neal

Vibrant Life Director

After 30 years of working in the administrative assistant field, Gloria Neal initially joined Solstice Senior Living at Joliet as concierge in December of 2017.

Now as the Vibrant Life® director, Gloria loves working with the residents and using her skills to make their lives a little better and more fun. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at her church with hospitality and assisting with the Craft Class. She also loves to bake, cook, work in her vegetable garden and do her church bookkeeping. She lives in Plainfield with her husband and son.

Edgar Ruvalcaba

Business Office Director

Edgar currently serves as the Business Office Director at Solstice Senior Living at Joliet. With experience in Finance and Management, Edgar has managed over 30 employees and 1.6 million dollars in revenue. A Joliet native, Edgar is currently in school working towards earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. When he’s not working or studying, you can find him exploring a new place with his family and dog.

Gary Ellingwood

Building Service Director

Gary has been a staple of the Solstice Senior Living at Joliet for the last four years and has a passion for serving seniors. A native of Aurora, Illinois, Gary has enjoyed a career in maintenance and construction for the last 25 years. He enjoys restoring classic automobiles in his spare time. You may also find him with his wonderful wife of 30 years, and with his four athletic sons, who kept Gary busy with traveling the country with their wrestling careers through college.

Brian Himmelman

Culinary Service Director

Brian Himmelman is the Culinary Service director for Solstice Senior Living at Joliet. Prior to joining the team, Brian spent 15 years as the executive chef for various restaurants around the area. His passion for cooking is evident in every dish he creates. This passion is what led Brian to enroll and graduate from Joliet Junior College with a Culinary Arts AAS degree. When he is not in the kitchen, Brian can be found spending time with his girlfriend, Paige, and three daughters, Katherine, Maeve and Mia.
