Gavin Sym, Executive Director, Solstice at Joliet

Gavin Sym

Executive Director

Gavin Sym has served as Executive Director at Solstice at Joliet since May 2022. He previously served as Senior Business Office Director at Solstice at Palatine. Gavin brings over a decade of leadership, sales and customer service experience across a variety of industries, including higher education, hospitality and wireless communications.

Following his passions for human relations, leadership and business management, Gavin earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in human resource management from Colorado Technical University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Fort Hays State University.

As an advocate for self-improvement at any stage of life, Gavin enjoys finding new opportunities to apply positive psychology in the workplace and his community. In his free time, Gavin enjoys challenging himself to learn new skills and languages, hiking with his dog, and exploring new parks and cities.

Director of Sales and Marketing

Esmeralda Castelan, director of Sales and Marketing at Solstice at Joliet, has more than 10 years of business experience across various fields, including gastronomy, medicine, fitness and senior living. She received her bachelor’s degree in marketing and computer science and specializes in the world of social media. Esmeralda is passionate about the relationship between business and customer, and her goal at Solstice at Joliet is to make our residents’ experiences both personalized and unforgettable. 

In her free time, Esmeralda enjoys spending time with friends and her dog, exercising, and exploring the cuisine in Chicago. She also speaks three languages and loves to travel.  

Gloria Neal, Vibrant Life® Director, Solstice at Joliet

Vibrant Life® Director

After 30 years of working in the administrative assistant field, Gloria Neal initially joined Solstice Senior Living at Joliet as concierge in December of 2017.

Now as the Vibrant Life® director, Gloria loves working with the residents and using her skills to make their lives a little better and more fun. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at her church with hospitality and assisting with the Craft Class. She also loves to bake, cook, work in her vegetable garden and do her church bookkeeping. She lives in Plainfield with her husband and son.

Tom Robinson

Jackie Zableckis

Building Office Director

A Minooka native, Jackie Zableckis brings over 15 years of experience in senior living business management to her role as Business Office Director at Solstice at Joliet. Prior to working in senior living, Jackie was a bookkeeper for a junior college and high school, as well as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper for an investment consulting company in Chicago.

In her free time, Jackie enjoys spending time with her family, especially her daughter and grandson, and two dogs, as well as reading, watching TV and traveling.

Tom Robinson

Tom Robinson

Building Service Director

Tom Robinson is the Building Services director at Solstice Senior Living at Joliet. He is responsible for the maintenance and care of our building. Tom has been in the maintenance-related business for more than 30 years and enjoys working and helping seniors.

He and his wife of 26 years reside in the Joliet area with their three beautiful kids. Tom will make sure you are comfortable living here at Solstice Senior Living at Joliet.
